Do I need to purchase The Burning Crusade CD to be able to play an existing account?

I have the Burning Crusade client (2.4.1), do I need to buy Burning Crusade to play or do the original and TBC. I know i need and authentication code and I have a 60 day gamecard.

If you only have the original game, you are unable to play the game on a client with "The Burning Crusade" installed. You will either need to upgrade your account with "The Burning Crusade" or you will need to uninstall the client and reinstall only the original client.

    If the account is already upgraded you just need to download the game off the website. but if it is not upgraded to TBC, you will need to buy it and use the Key provided to upgrade the account.
